During my time with the CCMA, I've learned that I really must self advocate when in a real, professional, work environment. Whenever there is something I dont understand, or I finish a task, I immediately go to her and ask what I can be doing next, or how I can do what I am doing in a way that makes sense. Also, she has me make my own judgment calls on some of the tasks that I am currently doing. For example, given my wide musical background, my mentor is having me test the musical equipment in her studio and told me to judge whether the item should be dumped or saved due to its working condition.
